  The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is a re-creation of a legendary ancient library from the time of the Greeks. The library has been rebuilt, restoring Alexandria to its former prominence as a center for study and exchange while also providing the city with a landmark structure. The spirit of international cooperation with which the library was planned, funded, designed, and implemented has been preserved in its administration, resulting in an institution with a truly global perspective.   Peckham Library is a library and community center in Peckham, London's south-east borough. Alsop and Störmer designed it, and AKT II engineered it. It won the Stirling Prize for Architecture in 2000. It's a remarkable structure that looks like an inverted capital letter 'L,' with thin steel pillars arranged at seemingly random angles supporting the upper half.
